About Us

Our Story

Rise & Recover was founded on a simple yet powerful idea: everyone deserves a chance to turn their life around. Since our inception, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with local courts, law enforcement, and community partners to develop a program that diverts non-violent offenders into a path of recovery and restoration. Through hard work, perseverance, and the support of our dedicated staff, we’ve grown from a small local initiative to a recognized leader in alternative sentencing and rehabilitation.

Our Mission and Values

Our mission is to provide a compassionate, structured environment where individuals can address the root causes of their challenges, gain critical life skills, and successfully reintegrate into society. We value:

  • Integrity: Honesty and transparency in all we do.

  • Compassion: Empathy and support for those in need.

  • Community: Working together to create safer, healthier neighborhoods.

  • Accountability: Holding ourselves and our clients responsible for achieving positive outcomes.

Dallas County

Dallas County, Alabama, and its county seat, Selma, face significant challenges related to substance use, poverty, and systemic disparities in the criminal justice system. The county’s population is approximately 38,000, with Selma accounting for roughly 17,000 residents. Selma’s demographics reveal a predominantly African American community, comprising over 80% of the population. High unemployment rates and limited access to healthcare have historically contributed to cycles of poverty and substance abuse.

Drug-related arrests remain a pressing issue in Dallas County. A significant portion of the county’s non-violent arrests involve possession or use of controlled substances. These arrests disproportionately affect minority populations, further exacerbating existing disparities. Within this context, Rise and Recover serves as a vital intervention point, helping individuals navigate the judicial system, address underlying substance use disorders, and build pathways to recovery and stability.

Founded on the principle that rehabilitation is more effective than punishment, Rise & Recover has served Dallas County for [X years]. Our programs are designed to tackle the root causes of criminal behavior—primarily substance abuse and socioeconomic instability—through a comprehensive array of services including treatment, life skills training, and family support. Each year, we assist [XX] individuals, reducing recidivism rates, and strengthening the community’s social fabric.
